My name is Jimel Beckett, and I’m an author of various media who was born and raised in the foothills of Appalachia. I currently live in the Chicago metropolitan area with my daughter. I’m eclectic, having diverse interests that show in my writing. I have a degree in Sociology in which my studies focused on crime/deviant behavior for undergrad and race/gender relations in post-grad. I love to travel, and my varied experiences around the world are woven into my stories.
Aside from writing, I love to read, listen to music, watch good TV/movies, crochet, and above all else, spend time with family and friends.
Hey there! I read your book last year, but just found you again after your blog regarding the Hankins/Muellerleile op-eds. I work at Marshall with Dr. Muellerleile and am a writer as well. I liked you on FB and would love a chance to talk more with you. We have a lot in common; book genres, appalachia, etc.
Howdy, Nancy! If you’re still interested, I would love to chat. I have been out of commission from this site for a while now.
Hi
I have a question about your book I believe I should not post in public. Could you send me an email so I can ask away?
Thank you
